SUPERJOINT RITUAL's ANSELMO Says They Are The Premiere Standard Setter For True Heavy Metal
September 16, 2003SUPERJOINT RITUAL frontman Philip Anselmo called into the "Kaos" radio show on Utah's rock radio station KBER 101 in late August. Listen to the interview in two parts: Part#1, Part#2.
In other news, Anselmo recently spoke to Canada's Chart Attack about his plans for SUPERJOINT RITUAL.
"I want to prove to people that this isn't just another side-project from Phil Anselmo," he said. "Not, 'Oh shit, here's another side-project and he'll maybe do one tour. It's not that important.' Well it IS that important because I'm gonna fuckin' do this. Right now, this is the premiere standard setter for true heavy metal."
"Honestly, there haven't been any bands worth shit as of late, so SUPERJOINT RITUAL, we're that band. I would love to promote or produce other bands, but there would have to be more of an uprising in bands that I liked. There aren't many bands that I like to be honest. It's hard to find a band with the full package. They may have a great drummer but that doesn't mean they're a great band. Or they can play the most technical shit ever but that doesn't equal a real song. I know the difference, it's a language of its own and you have to know how to use it." Read more.
